John is proud to have been recently endorsed by 11 current and former Chief’s of Police throughout La Porte County

We, the undersigned, can attest that being a sheriff is much more than being a qualified police commander. Your sheriff is your voice and your guardian and must stand unafraid against any and all threats. In our judgment, John Boyd is the clear choice to be our sheriff.

With over 25 years of invaluable experience, John Boyd has fulfilled a variety of roles such as patrolman, shift supervisor, certified instructor for DARE and gang resistance programs, emergency response team member, two-time officer-of-the-year award recipient, chief of detectives, and is currently serving as Major and third in command of the entire department. He has been tempered, tested, and stands prepared to manage a team of law enforcement professionals.

John Boyd has shown that he understands the diversity of communities within our county, whether municipal or rural. He knows how to encourage collaborative efforts from all the various local, state, and federal agencies serving La Porte County. When you have someone who has devoted their entire adult life to excelling at almost every critical position in the sheriff’s office, except for sheriff, then it’s time for him to assume that role.

We believe John Boyd’s background, experience, tenacious work effort, and command presence combine to make him a sheriff who will enforce the law without fear or favor.

Each of us would be honored to stand shoulder to shoulder with John. We are proud to endorse him and urge you to elect him as our next sheriff.
